Beginning the day in Beacon and catching an early morning ferry, students enjoyed being out on the river and hearing their teachers recite the famous Walt Whitman poem, "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry."

Students toured the campus, learned about admissions, financial aid, scholarship opportunities and student life. They also learned about various career program options in addition to academic programs and pathways.

The 草榴社区West freshmen class participated in a leaving-to-learn activity at Sportsplex in New Windsor. This idea was spearheaded by Senior Leonardo Guzman. Leo interned at Sportsplex last year.

The 草榴社区Book Club will be reading Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert as their December selection. 20 copies of each book have been generously donated by the Superintendent's office. All 草榴社区students are welcome to participate.

To kick off the harvest season, THA PTO hosted its 3rd Annual Cookies and Canvas Paint Night. Miss Dutcher led attendees, helping them to paint a Fall tree and swing.

The lesson included a powerpoint about Conflict Resolution using the "Bounce or Splat" strategy. They had to work with a partner to decide whether they would "bounce" or "splat" when faced with a problem.

The National Junior Honor Society conducted a canned food drive for two weeks this holiday season.

On Wednesday, November 8, 草榴社区 proudly hosted our 4th annual Veterans Day Breakfast to honor those in our families and community who have served in any branch of our nation鈥檚 military.

Four scholar-athletes from Newburgh Free Academy signed their letters to commit to play for Division I & II schools as part of the National Letter of Intent day that occurs each year across the country.
